Good Morning Warriors!
Just a quick word, and then I’ll be out of your way this morning. What was on my mind when I opened my eyes this morning was having the mind of Christ.
I was thinking about it because, personally, I find myself being so what I call ‘busy brain’ and, at the same time, burdened with all the things I read and see that is happening in this world that it can become overwhelming to the spirit.
This scripture this morning, Philippians 4:8, is a reminder to us that whatever is good, if there is ANYTHING we can focus our minds on that is good, moral, decent, Christ-like, then we must on-purpose focus on those things.
Is what is happening in the world around us awful and horrible?
Yes, it is.
I’ve seen videos recently of a woman who escaped from North Korea, and she spends her life energy going around sharing with anyone who will listen to what goes on over there.
It is beyond heinous and horrific how this entire nation of people is treated.
After hearing snippets of her testimony a few times, my soul grieved for the millions of people who have been denied access to the knowledge of God and left to suffer by the rest of the world that acts as if it cares so much about others.
We went into a war ‘supposedly’ because Saddam Hussein was treating his people so terribly and, of course, had weapons of mass destruction (now we know that was a lie). We did not go over there to truly save people from a ruthless dictator, liberate them, and give them a better life!
But never-the-less, we did that, and yet we allow North Korea to go untouched!
These are the kinds of things that cause the mind to get bogged down and the soul to weep.
Yet, God is fully aware of all of it, and He tells us in His Word to again, on purpose, focus on anything we can find that is good and Godly and think on those things. Do not meditate on all the evil that is in the world.
Truly the evil has always been there, it is just that after decades of boiling and simmering, it has now bubbled up to the surface for all to see (or at least those with eyes to see and ears to hear).
As for me, I will have to spend more time reminding myself whenever I look through the lens of the internet into the world that God is absolutely awake and aware of everything and that in the end, not one wicked person will go unpunished, and not one innocent life will be lost!
It’s all about when we get to the other side!
